Cassel, John Harmon (1877 – 1960)

John Cassel attended the Art Institute of Chicago. He began his career as a cartoonist for the religious publication, Ram’s Horn. In the 1890s he became a contributor to Life, Judge and Puck magazine.  Cassel joined the New York World as editorial cartoonist for the evening edition, later switching to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle where he served in the same capacity.
